The FAMOUS GLENGARRY CAP
has an interesting history.
These fine WOOLEN bonnets
appeared in 1794.
It is a hat that is able to be folded flat. Traditionally, the caps have a ribbon cockade on the side where one can place a pin of distinction.
Some contemporary caps are made
with tartans & may or may not have
a ribbon/cockade.
It has a toorie (pom-pom) upon its crown.
Legend has it, that the sailors would hit the tops of their heads on ships,
so a creative wife put the wee toorie on it to cushion the blow for her husband.
It is used in Scottish military wear as
well as by the modern Scot,
who wears it proudly, when in
his kilted attire.

How to measure your head for a Glengarry cap (bonnet)
Place measuring tape (just above eyebrows). Comfortably measure around the circumference of your head.
Repeat this a couple times to be sure,
